Description of Events

(We will add the 1997-1998 Calendar shortly)

Friends' Christmas Party

Every year in early December, the Friends of the Library gather together for a holiday party. It features a white elephant double elimination gift exchange.

Keller Kountry Bike Rally

This has been the major fund raising effort of the Friends for the past 10 years and has become an important community activity. Proceeds from the rally have generated over $100,000 for the library over the years. The rally has a mini web site of it's own at www.metronet.com/~msobel/kkr.htm

Community Carbo Dinner

This started out as a carbohydrate loading dinner the night before the Keller Kountry Rally but by now it had become a community event in its own right. It also has a web site at www.metronet.com/~msobel/carbo.htm

Book Sale

We receive thousands of books every year as donations. All year long, these books are sorted and organized. Generally twice a year we have book sales in addition to offering small ongoing book sales in the library. If you want to donate some books just drop them by the library. If you want to help with the book sale or with the sorting, please contact us.

Holiday Gift Wrapping

In cooperation with the North Richland Hills Barnes and Noble, the Friends wrap gift packages at the store one night during the holiday season.

Keller Community Trashoff

Two Saturday mornings a year for about two hours, the Friends and the Library Board meeting and clean up trash on Borland Road near the library. This is part of the overall Texas Trashoff campaign.

Harvest Stew

The Harvest Stew is a festival of clowns, face painting, contests, hayrides, a book sale, other events, and a great stew made from canned goods brought by the attendees. Each year, hundreds of excess cans are distributed to the local food bank. For further information look at www.metronet.com/~msobel/harvest.htm
